69th Independence Day celebrations

The 69th Independence Day was celebrated at The Universal School with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. The celebrations started with the Ceremonial March past. The Head boy of the School, Rishabh Singh hoisted the National Flag. This responsibility was bestowed on the Head Boy - a student representative, to involve students and make them responsible towards Nation Building, as we believe that the youngsters are the future of our Nation.
The celebrations concluded with Patriotic songs and speeches by students and this generated a patriotic zeal amongst everyone present.

So long….. Farewell to our Scottish Teachers!!

The week long visit of the Scottish visitors to The Universal School was full of activities:
Interaction with the students, observation of classes, interaction with the PTA members, sharing of best teaching practices and a professional development program for the teachers kept all of us very busy.

The highlight of the week were Yoga sessions, Lezim performance,  Fusion Dance depicting diversity through various folk dances of our country, Folk songs, National Anthems of both the countries, Scotland and India. There was also a display of Shakespearean Drama followed by recitals of Rabindranath Tagore's poems by our students. "Villa for Sale" - drama performed by the students was very much appreciated by the visitors. The Scottish teachers also had the opportunity to learn our dance styles and participated in the Garba dance.

It was a very emotional moment for everyone at The Universal School as the students bid Adieu to Mrs.Arlene Black, The Head teacher and Mr.Fraser Mackie, the International School Coordinator of our Partner School, Williamston Primary School, Scotland .
